Guided ski tour
Let´s go together on a silent ski tour in the forest surrounding Taiga Forest Lodge looking for animals hiding among the snowy trees. We make a short, easy tour adjusted to your abilities and make a stop for some swedish fika before heading back to the Lodge.

Northern lights
Arranged by Taiga Forest Lodge Follow us to catch a glimt of the magic Aurora Borealis. We start from the lodge by car and drive for about 20 minutes to the mountain Teletöisentunturit where the view is stunning. The tour includes hot beverage and Swedish “fika” and hopefully the perfect photo moment.

Snowmobile tour
Experience the amazing views of the snowy Forest from comfortable sleds with warm blankets drawn by snowmobiles driven by the guides. We drive about 30 minutes to 1h to find the perfect spot to stop and make an outdoor meal over open fire and spot for animal tracks.

Meet the reindeers
We start at the lodge and go by car about 5km from the Lodge to our visit our friend Anders and his reindeers. Here we help feed the reindeers and see if we can get any nice photos of the majestic animals.

Ice fishing tour
Try to catch fish from a hole drilled in the frozen lakes. We go together with car or snowmobile depending on weather conditions and find the perfect spot for catching wild perch.

Explore sweden in winter with guides
CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
Explore the surrounding area on skis. We keep the snow trails open for you to follow trough the pine forest and over the frozen mires.
Skiis are included in the price when staying at the Lodge
KICKSLED
Take the traditional kick sled to the nearby village Nilivaara. You kick the sled on the icy roads and experince the silent winter lanscape just like people in the area have done for more than 100 years.

OUTDOOR COOKING
Have the dinner outside in the frozen snowfilled garden. Enjoy the silence & the heat from the open fire on warm reindeer skins together under the stars.
AURORA WATCHING
Taiga Forest Lodge is a perfect place to see the Northern lights in Sweden in winter. Here in the middle of the forest with very few lights there is a good chance to both see and photograph the Northerns Lights.
SNOWSHOE WALKING
Explore the snowcovered nature on snowshoes right outside the doorstep. Walk on the deep snow right into the forest and search for tracks from hares, reindeers, mooses and birds.
Snowshoes are included in the price when staying at the lodge.
Downhill Skiing at Dundret Lapland
On mountain Dundret in central Gällivare the whole family can enjoy downhill skiing & snowboarding. By ski-pass or 1-3h, half day or 1 day and rent equipment on site. The mountain area has a family friendly restaurant and several outdoor fireplaces where you can bring your own food. Dundret Lapland is about 60 minutes drive from Taiga Forest Lodge.
